Did you know that Susan Lucci, the Emmy Award-winning star of “All My Children” and Daytime’s Leading Lady, is 5’2″ and only 95 pounds?

That’s a little!

It’s even less than the ideal “small frame” weight for her height, which is 105 pounds. And somehow, magically, it suits her. She never looked thin or, worse, anorexic.

For 14 years, Susan has been a big fan of Pilates – a fitness regimen that focuses on breathing, muscle precision and flexibility.

Judging by the paparazzi pictures of her in a bikini at 62, she’s clearly benefiting from it!

But is Susan Lucci’s weight something to strive for?

Maybe, if you are her exact height and have a similarly tiny frame like a bird. And with the average height and weight of women being 5’3″ and 163 pounds, it’s probably safe to say that looking like Susan Lucci isn’t a realistic goal for many women.

However, if you want to look petite and glamorous like the divine Ms. Lucci, there are a few things you can do:

1. Drink water.

To keep your skin glowing, flush out toxins from your body, and lose weight easily, you should drink about 100 ounces of water a day.

It may seem like a lot, but if you replace coffee, soda, and smoothies with water, you’ll be surprised how much of a difference it can make in your quest to lose weight.

2. Exercise regularly.

Even if you take an extra half hour to walk the dog; even if you park further from the entrance of your work, home or store just to get a heart attack; even if it’s just a 20-minute walk around your block or neighborhood, you need to get up, get out, and move.

Losing weight is not just cutting out certain foods. It’s also about activities.

3. Eat more often.

Don’t starve yourself all day and then “reward” yourself with a big meal late in the day. Eat smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism high and prevent hunger.

4. Be natural. 

It’s not about twigs and berries. But too many of us reach for quick, prepackaged meals that we can quickly choke down so we can shuffle through our busy schedules.

And that’s not good for you. Opt for food that is fresh and healthy, i.e. a piece of fruit instead of a fruit roll or pop tart.

5. Love your body!

Don’t kill yourself trying to get down to Susan Lucci’s weight. Her weight is good for her. She has a small frame. Your body is probably nothing like hers – and that’s a good thing because you’re beautiful.

If you have large breasts or a bum, some of it will definitely disappear when you lose extra pounds. But you have to love who you are because that helps the process go much faster.
